Hipno
4 Comments

A sad day for Hipno. Cycling ’74 has announced that all sales of Pluggo and Pluggo-based plug-ins will cease immediately. More information is available @ http://www.cycling74.com/story/2009/5/14/101259/594 .

If, and what, Electrotap will do with Hipno is still unclear at this point. We thank everyone who enjoyed Hipno and let us know about their love for the plug-ins. We love them too and will miss them very much!

Hipno are great plugins !!
Will you integrate hipno in Max for Live ? It will be nice !

Max for Live will indeed be nice. We can’t really talk much about it, but we are working on exploring several options (hence the relative silence of posts on this blog).

Best wishes!

I know that I am late on this one but I was wondering If any desisions have been made yet as to the future of the Pluggo, Hipno, Mode plugins? They are still the best sound manipulation, transformation software out there, even though every one else has had some time to catch up! Please, please make they available somewhere! As a part of Max for live would be great, so would independant VSTs. I can hear there subtle and interesting use in so much of the digital music I love, they have changed the game and I just wanted to implore you not to let them dissapear.

Thanks

Thanks for your kind note!

We have no control of Pluggo or Mode. The VTheremin plug-in from Hipno was re-purposed into an example that ships with Max-for-Live. For other plug-ins there is nothing immediate that I can promise.

Some work has been done on a Hipno-for-Live, but it has stalled out for the time being because of (sadly) copy protection and distribution/logistical issues.

Progress has also been made on independent plug-ins running as native VST/AU plugs-ins. Alas, much more progress is needed before being anywhere close to even alpha version. There is a lot going on in these plug-ins and the infrastructure that is required has taken quite some time.

Thanks for your continued interest!
